Haidhausen

Haidhausen is located in the east of Munich and is known as the 'French Quarter', since most streets are named after French cities, and the streets and places are arranged in a pattern that can be found in France. Haidhausen is a very residential district but still has some of the trendiest nightlife. The heart of the district is Rosenheimer Platz, a square close to the "Deutsches Museum" and the Gasteig Cultural Centre which is the home of the classy Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Also close by is the Munich East train station which connects the district to almost every other place in Munich and the surrounding areas. Occupying a whole little island on the Isar, is the Deutsches Museum, one of the world's largest museums of science and technology, can also be found here.
