Ludwigsvorstadt
This part of the city holds one of the most popular places in Munich: In Ludwigsvorstadt there is the Theresienwiese, where people from all over the world come together to attend the Oktoberfest every year just besides the Bavaria Statue. The statue itself was created by Ludwig Schwanthaler, to whom the district around is dedicated. The material that was used to build the patroness of the Free State of Bavaria came from melted weapons. Do not miss to climb up to the top of the Bavaria as it will offer you a great view over the city and its wonderful old mansions which can be found especially in the district of Ludwigsvorstadt.
