Maxvorstadt

Maxvorstadt is known as Munich`s artistic quarter and offers a high quality living, old Wilhelminian buildings, hip boutiques, and some of the most famous art and culture locations in the city, such as the three Pinakotheken or the Munich Glyptothek. One of the most impressive monumental buildings Maxvorstadt has to offer is the Königsplatz (King`s Square). Some people living in Maxvorstadt consider themselves to be a "Schwabinger" (Schwabing resident) and the majority are singles, due to the fact, that most of the residential buildings hold one- or two-room apartments. The high fluctuation referring to the educational institutions that can be found here (Technical University, University of applied sciences, state and university library and the collage for Music and theatre) may also be a reason.
