Schliersee

The lake „Schliersee"  lies less than 1 driving hour away from Munich in the Bavarian Holiday Region Tegernsee.

With an area of 220 hectares and a depth of about 40 meters, the Schliersee counts to one of the smaller lakes in the Bavarian Alps Region.

It is famous for its natural beauty as it is lying in the midst of mountains and forests.

Around the lake, there are several areas which are the perfect spot for swimming or sunbathing.

The water quality is excellent which makes the lake also to a paradise for fishers. The season starts the 1st of March until 15th November and the fish stock includes: perch, lake trout, rainbow trout, mirror carp, common carp, tench, char, pike and eels.

Cruise round trips are offered from May until September daily every hour between 11 am and 5 pm. The start is at the landing place "Vitalwelt Schliersee". The cruises are not happening if the weather is very stormy.

Boats can be hired at the landing place "Vitalwelt Schliersee" as well. You can select between electric boats, pedal, swimming and rowing boats.

In June the Garmin-Aplen-Triathlon takes place. It is a very special race that happens in the beautiful countryside between Schliersee and Spitzingsee and has therefore a very beautiful route.

The village Schliersee is also worth a visit with the lovely town hall and the interesting heritage museum.

The lake and the surrounding area are a paradise for sport and nature lovers.

From Munich A 8 Salzburg/ EXIT Weyarn, Miesbach, Schliersee ,on the A-road follow the signs Miesbach than Schliersee

By public transport:

From Munich by train (Bayrische Oberlandbahn (BOB) in direction Schliersee / Fischhausen-Neuhaus, continue your journey by bus: RVO-Bus Line 9562 until Station Schliersee
