Walking through the gorge itself: approximately 1–1.5 km, taking around 30–45 minutes. If you return along the same route, expect a total hike of 9–10 km, taking approximately 3–4 hours. Tip: Wear sturdy, waterproof hiking or sports shoes and bring a light rain jacket. Water often drips from the cliffs and inside the tunnels, so you may get wet even on a sunny day. Walchensee Lake Walchensee is one of Germany's clearest and most beautiful alpine lakes, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise water and breathtaking mountain scenery. It is an ideal place for a relaxing walk, swimming, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
