Overnight Guided Hike to Herzogstand and Heimgarten Peaks from Munich

Description
Depart Munich at noon in a minivan for a 1.5-hour drive to the trailhead. The hike begins in the forest, steadily ascending over 2–3 hours with no technical challenges but requires average fitness. Halfway through, pause at a viewpoint over Lake Kochel for snacks.
The trail then opens to mountain views as you approach the Herzogstand summit and the Berggasthof Herzogstand mountain hut where you will stay overnight. Relax on the terrace with alpine vistas and enjoy Bavarian dinner and drinks, available for purchase.
In the evening, hike 30 minutes uphill to Herzogstand summit to watch the sunset around 7 or 8 pm, depending on the season. Return to the hut for overnight accommodation.
The next morning starts early, around 5 am, to revisit Herzogstand summit for sunrise with a light breakfast included to take along. Afterwards, hike the scenic ridge trail to Heimgarten, a route requiring a head for heights but no technical skill. After a break at Heimgarten, descend 2 to 3 hours to the valley.
Return transfer brings you back to Munich with drop-off at your accommodation around 2 pm.
