Depart Munich at 9 AM in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. The 1.5-hour drive takes you directly to the turquoise shores of Lake Eibsee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Here, you can tailor your day with various activities.

You may choose to:

  • Hike the 7.5 km scenic loop around the lake (all year), taking about 2 hours.
  • Stand-Up Paddle from June to September by renting a SUP board (€21/hour) and paddle past small islands.
  • Rent a Boat year-round, with rowing boats at €17/hour or pedal boats at €20/hour for a self-guided cruise.
  • Swim during summer months (June–August) in the clear alpine waters. Bring a floatie if desired.
  • Relax at a lakeside terrace with a snack, coffee, or Bavarian cake.

If you opt for stand-up paddleboarding or boating, this activity will start the day. Afterwards, enjoy a short, easy walk to Eibsee Alm for an optional traditional Bavarian lunch (own expense), with the option to try a cold Bavarian beer in the mountain air.
