Description
Depart Munich on a comfortable, climate-controlled bus and travel through the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. En route, observe the Chiemsee lake, known as the “Bavarian Sea.”
Arrive in Salzburg and receive approximately 2.5 hours of free time to explore the city independently. Visit landmarks such as Hohensalzburg Fortress, Mozart’s birthplace, Salzburg Cathedral, Hellbrunn Palace, and the city's fountains. Stroll through the Old Town with its boutique shops and local eateries.
From April to October, continue your tour through the Salzkammergut region to Wolfgangsee. Optionally purchase a boat ride to St. Wolfgang to see the pilgrimage church and the Hotel zum Weißen Rössl. Pass by Mondsee, known for its role in the film ‘The Trapp Family.’
In the winter months (October to April), the itinerary replaces the Wolfgangsee visit with extra time in Salzburg, including access to the Christkindlmarkt Christmas market in December.
Return to Munich by bus at the end of the tour.
