The tour begins at 9:00 AM with a meeting point in Munich. A guide will drive the group to Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak at 2,962 meters, located in Bavaria near the Austrian border. Zugspitze offers accessible transport options from across Europe.
First, take the cogwheel train to Lake Eibsee, situated around 1,000 meters above sea level. The lake features crystal-clear water and scenic surroundings. In spring and summer, it is ideal for hiking and photography. In winter, the frozen lake and snowy landscape create a quiet mountain setting. A lakeside stroll provides a refreshing break before ascending to the summit.
Next, take the cable car to the Zugspitze summit. The viewing platform offers panoramic views across four European countries. From the top, Lake Eibsee appears like a sparkling gem, offering a contrasting perspective to the lakeshore view. This is an opportunity to capture memorable photos of the mountain and surrounding landscape.
Note: Weather conditions in the Alps can change rapidly. Bring warm clothing, rain protection, and sun protection for high altitudes. Some visitors may feel mild effects of altitude; rest as needed. The Zugspitze cableways undergo routine maintenance in spring (April-May) and late autumn to winter (November-December), affecting transport and viewing platforms. If the mountain is closed due to weather on your travel day, alternative attractions will be arranged.
Vehicle allocation depends on group size: for 1-8 people, a 7-9 seat vehicle with driver-guide; for 9-16 people, a 15-19 seat medium coach; over 17 people, a 30-48 seat larger coach.
