Description
Immerse yourself in the world of Bavarian craftsmanship and create your own scented candles in a special hands-on workshop in the heart of Munich. In a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, you'll learn step by step how scented candles are made – from the choice of wax types to the individual fragrance composition. Each participant will pour one or two of their own candles, which can be taken home at the end.
To begin with, you will receive an introduction to the waxes used. You will learn how different varieties – such as rapeseed wax or beeswax – differ in terms of fragrance absorption, burning behavior, and appearance. This knowledge will help you to consciously design your candle and understand the properties of the material.
Another focus is on the fragrance oils. You will learn the basics of perfumery: top notes, heart notes, and base notes. You will learn how fragrances are structured, how they behave in warm wax, and how to mix harmonious compositions. Afterwards, you can demonstrate your own creativity and your good sense of smell. You will create your personal blend from several Bavarian or Alpine-inspired fragrance oils – fresh, spicy, woody, or floral, entirely to your liking.
Once your fragrance blend is ready, you will receive hot wax and pour your candles yourself. You insert the wick, stir in your fragrance composition, and watch how liquid wax slowly turns into a solid, fragrant candle. While the candles are cooling, there is time for questions, discussion, and a few insights into the history of candle making.
The workshop can take place in good or bad weather and is suitable for locals who want to try something new, as well as for guests who want to take a handmade souvenir from Munich with them. At the end, you will not only take your own scented candles with you, but also knowledge, inspiration, and a special experience of Bavarian craftsmanship.
