Description
This 11-hour private tour offers a comfortable way to explore Bavaria’s historic landmarks and scenic landscapes. Your personal driver will pick you up from your Munich accommodation in an air-conditioned multivan, then drive approximately 1 hour 40 minutes to Neuschwanstein Castle.
Begin with a stroll along Alpsee Lake at the castle’s base, enjoying the alpine scenery. Next, take a short bus ride to Mary’s Bridge for one of the best views of the castle perched above the valley.
Approach Neuschwanstein Castle on foot and join an official audio-guided tour through its impressive rooms, including the Throne Room and King Ludwig II’s private chambers. Private tours inside the castle are not permitted.
Your driver will then transfer you within an hour to Linderhof Palace, known for its ornate interiors, the Hall of Mirrors, and the grotto (open mid-April to mid-October). Explore the landscaped gardens and the tranquil setting around the palace.
Afterward, visit Oberammergau village, famous for its woodcarving tradition and the Passion Play performed every ten years. You can walk through its streets and see colorful frescoes depicting biblical and local scenes. Oberammergau is about 15 minutes from Linderhof Palace by car.
The return drive to Munich takes approximately 1 hour.
