Weather Overview

The climate in Munich is a mix of humid atlantic and dry continental air. Since Munich is located close to Alps and to the Danube, the weather can be very changeable. A typical weather condition for this area is the "Föhn": A warm and dry air flow is the cause for a low air pressure in the surrounding area. The average high temperature is about 24° C in the summer months. The hotter it is getting the more rain is falling. The average low temperature is about -5° C in winter. At the edge of the Alps Munich is one of the cities with lots of snow, a fact which especially the winter sport fans will appreciate.
