Sendlinger Tor
Munich
The oldest of the three remaining gates of Munich's outer city walls is the Sendlinger Tor.
Built around 1318, this gate used to be the gateway for the trade route to Italy.
The towers of the Sendinger Tor were damaged in the early 19th century and in 1906 a large arch was built, enabling cars to pass through the gate in the south of the city.
