New Botanical Garden

Munich´s new botanical garden is located north of Nymphenburg Palace. It offers an impressive variety of plants and flowers and therefore counts to one of the most beautiful botanical gardens within Europe.
The botanical garden sizes approximately 22 hectares of land on which more than 14.000 different plants can be admired.
Close to the main entrance the buildings of the Botanical Institute as well as the National Botancial Collection can be visited.
The whole garden is divided into different sections. For example you can visit the ecological and genetic exhibition, where you can learn a lot about how plants have adapted to their respective environments. Educational exhibitions dealing with polination on fruits and seeds are also available.
But, no matter, if you are are of botanical interest or just a fan of plants and flowers in general, the garden impresses everyone with its variety of sections such as the Alpinum, plants for agricultural use, the Rose Garden, a greenhouse with exhibiting exotical dragon trees, cactuses and carnivorous plants. Do not miss to visit the Large Tropical House with its banana plants, bamboo stems and gigantic palms.
