Christmas market at Marienplatz

This “Christkindlmarkt” counts to the most popular of the city - which most probably is because of its central location.
Besides traditional Christmas tree decorations and handicrafts, a lot of stands provide sustenance - Mulled wine, baked apples, roast almonds and gingerbread or if you prefer something solid, try sausages or potato pancakes (Reiberdatschi).
Location:
The market takes place in the Kaufinger Street, starting at the Marienplatz and ending at Karlsplatz (Stachus);
Opening hours:
Monday -Saturday: 10.00 - 20.30 h
Sundays: 10.00 - 19.30 h
24.12.2010: 10.00 -14.00 h
Framework programme daily starting at 17.30 h.
There is also a special daily programme for kids in the age of 6-12 years from the 29.11.10 to the 19.12.10 at the Ratstrinkstube (at the new town-hall) between14.30 h and 16.30 h; Duration: ca. 1,5 h
